Originating from Minnesota, this cultivar of Wisteria is more hardy and can bloom three times during the season. 'Blue Moon' is expected to produce flowers by the third year, if not the second. Superb clusters (45cm long) of fragrant, lavender blue flowers appear early summer. Requires a solid, very big trellis, which will be covered quite rapidly by its large green leaves. "
This cultivar offers large, fragrant, dark lavender blue flowers. Those climbers need a lot of sun and heat to bloom. It is recommended to plant them against a wall facing south/south-west. If you need to fertilise them, avoid a fertiliser with a high content in nitrogen which will enhance the vegetative development of the plant to the detriment of the flowering. Needs a strong support.
