Nice Japanese maple with golden foliage all summer long, turning orangy-red in fall. Large leaves, 8-10cm wide with small red flowers in clusters. A partly shady exposure is preferred. This is an ideal specimen plant for Japanese gardens. Must be planted in areas sheltered from winds and hot sun rays.
Conical, narrow growth in youth maturing to oval-rounded habit. Dense, bright green foliage that turns to nice shades of yellow in fall. The nice tulip shaped flowers, yellow with orange spots at the base are very fragrant. These flowers appear only on old specimens and in our climat, they appear but only a few at a time. The cone shaped fruits, elongated, turn brown in October and stay in winter. Does not tolerate pollution. It must be protected from cold winter winds.
