Small size tree with an irregular, rounded wide shape. Its main trunk is more or less straight with reddish bark. It bears oval, green leaves, glossy on top, turning yellow in fall. Purple red buds open into pink flowers with purple tinges. Pod-like fruits appear in fall. Must be planted sheltered from cold winter winds.
