The magnificent blooms of panicle hydrangeas in the heart of summer dramatically transform the look of a garden. Their abundant flowers brighten spaces that were once simply green, while these beautiful shrubs remain attractive from July until the first frosts.
Closely related to the familiar 'Limelight', this improved cultivar stands out for its richer colour, enhanced form, and greater tolerance of cold and partial shade. Limelight Prime® reaches 1.2 to 1.8 metres (4 to 6 ft.) in height and 1.2 to 1.5 metres (4 to 5 ft.) in width. Like most panicle hydrangeas, it thrives in rich, well-drained, humus-rich soil, but this cultivar also tolerates wetter conditions.

For an instant vacation feel in your landscape, choose Hibiscus moscheutos, commonly known as hardy hibiscus or rose mallow. Available at the nursery in bud, these plants promise spectacular oversized flowers with a tropical appearance. Even better, they are now hardy throughout many regions of southern Québec (Zone 5).
These dependable perennials deserve far more attention than they often receive. They require very little maintenance and tolerate drought conditions that few other perennials can withstand. In light, well-drained soil, natural rainfall is often all they need to thrive and produce abundant blooms. They are also perfectly hardy in Québec. One of the latest-blooming creeping sedums, Sedum kamtschaticum var. middendorffianum (Kamchatka stonecrop), hardy to Zone 3, produces masses of brilliant yellow flowers that attract pollinators while remaining unappealing to deer. It is an outstanding choice for sunny rock gardens.
Rudbeckia hirta 'Sunbeckia' blooms continuously throughout the growing season. Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm' remains compact, grows quickly, and performs well in moderately fertile soil. Finally, Rudbeckia fulgida 'Little Goldstar' is a truly compact perennial that fits beautifully into smaller gardens.
Chelone lyonii 'Tiny Tortuga', a compact turtlehead cultivar, performs well in partial shade and prefers consistently moist soil. Its glossy dark green foliage provides a striking contrast to its deep pink flowers.

Thalictrum rochebrunianum is an impressive, statuesque perennial that grows over 1.5 metres (5 ft.) tall. Native to Japan, it thrives in rich, humus-rich, consistently moist soil and tolerates partial shade.
