The arrival of the off-season is ideal time for planting and rearranging. You’ll still find a selection of trees and shrubs in store. Also, don’t forget to enrich your soil with compost and manure to encourage the growth of your perennials with the first warmth.
Finally, visit the store to find quality garlic and spring bulbs for your flowerbeds!
There’s nothing like a spring delight of daffodils or tulips! Don’t underestimate the beauty of beds and borders where scillas, muscaris, crocuses, and chionodoxas have naturalized, bringing color back to the garden for our pleasure and that of native pollinators.

Although we sometimes want to be done with outdoor tasks when November arrives, it’s important not to install winter protection too early. This year in particular, with the recent warm temperatures, trees and shrubs need more water than protection! Nonetheless, be prepared! Set up your stakes and have your protective materials ready to act quickly without freezing your fingers.
You’ll find everything in store to protect your delicate plants and new plantings.

Consult our qualified staff to choose from all that’s offered: cones, Arbotex fabric or lawn fabric, staples, ropes, stakes, and more, including animal protection for rodents or deer (spiral plastic tree gards and nets).

For those planning new plantings or to enlarge their gardens, using an occultation fabric for fall and winter can reduce weeding in spring. It’s worth considering!

When woody plants, those that produce wood, prepare for winter, they do significant work managing water and minerals in their cells to survive the cold. Conifers and evergreen plants are more prone to issues from water shortage and drying winds for this reason.

This year, the autumn is especially warm and dry. Don’t forget to water your hedges, large conifers, and evergreen shrubs like rhododendrons. This will keep them healthy!

Leaf collection often raises many questions. Indeed, wildlife and many beneficial insects need leaves to survive the winter. However, leaves accumulating on the lawn can cause damage and promote fungal diseases like necrotic ring spot. Additionally, around the base of fruit trees, you might unknowingly shelter your worst enemies, the vole and the rabbit, which can gnaw the bark of your trees in secret. Finally, if you experienced fungal diseases or pests in your crops during the warmer season, you risk having them again by keeping contaminated leaves around.

Ideally, collect dead leaves and send them for composting.
